✚ How many treatments do I need?

• In general 3-10 tattoo laser removal treatments are required, 4-6 weeks apart.
• The amount of treatments depends on the size of the tattoo, color, location, and the type of ink that was used.
• Frequency of laser treatment also depends on your skin color and how fast your skin heals.

✚ Which Colors are easier to remove?

• The ink in older tattoos is easier for the laser energy to remove, than the ink of new tattoos.
• Easiest to remove colors are: Black, Dark Blue and Red colors.
• More difficult to remove colors are: Purple, Brown, Light orange and Light blue and Light Green.
• The colors that are more difficult to remove, may require more treatment sessions.

✚ Is the procedure or post-treatment painful?

• Laser Tattoo Removal is associated with some pain due to longer laser use with higher energy
• We make the procedure comfortable by numbing the skin for 20 minutes prior the procedure.
• Many patients report mild irritation or itching after the removal of tattoo which can last for 1-3 days.
• If the post-treatment discomfort is too much, antibiotic and cortisone cream can be prescribed.
• To help the post-treatment area heal well, keep the treatment area covered to prevent sunburn and apply SPF30+ cream.
• After treatment skin reacts with temporary redness, swelling and minor blistering, but heals within 1-2 weeks.
